The Crown Inn, Dial Post

With freezing temperatures and snow for the few days leading up to our March walk we looked out the window Sunday morning and although 16% chance of rain and 9 degrees we decided to venture out and we’re so pleased we did.

Starting from the village pub we took a circular route, taking in areas of land with free roaming animals and passing through the impressive Knepp castle estate.

On our journey over fields, through forests, alongside mossy brooks and around lakes we encountered a windmill, two lovely fat pigs, deer, horses, cows, sheep, a red kite, a fox, and… so much mud! – which we had fun wading through to be honest.

5.5 miles completed, we arrived at the pub at 2.15pm, for what we agreed was one of the best Sunday roast dinners we’ve ever had (that we’d earned, thank you) – we highly recommend the Crown Inn at Dial Post.

Yes, that is ice. We are hardy Wombles.

We choose a country retreat each walk. This is the entry for March. Lovely!

Uncle bulgaria’s Pork belly.. one of them at least! 🙂

One dessert. Two spoons please.
