The Sportsman, Amberley

Lovely Sue joined us on our Womble walk in July. It was a very hot, sunny day and a very pleasant and picturesque 6 mile ramble.

Wonderful scenery and an ever changing path for this one, wading through fields of barley one minute, riverside gorse, thick forest, dense shoulder-high marshland scrub and finally through the very pretty village of Amberley.

Having started the year enduring the bitter cold weather we’d have found it hard to believe that just a few months later we’re trying hard to keep cool and out of the sun!

Pictured below, the winning country retreat of the walk, a fabulous residence Bungo found along the way.

The Sportsman delivered us a bit of canopy shade in their garden, as we enjoyed drinks and a pub lunch whilst overlooking the countryside and congratulated ourselves on a walk well done.. once Mike had managed to cool down!
