The George, Burpham

Three of us for our June Womble and what a thoroughly enjoyable time we had, with Kate chattering all the way round (sorry guys).

For those who couldn’t make the walk in the end, you missed the sunniest and most scenic so far. Not even big boots required for this one (and no cleaning off copious mud afterwards).

I hope you can see the backdrop of beautiful countryside in the pictures. We all felt uplifted – as good as a ‘mindfulness’ workshop we thought. How blessed we are to live on the South coast. Look at those rolling hills, the bonny sheep and crowds of red poppies.

Our Sunday lunch at the George didn’t disappoint either, a fitting (and super-delicious) reward for what turned out to be a slightly longer walk than advertised, 5.5 miles rather than 4.5. Kate’s perfect country retreat for June is pictured below too, complete with thatched roof.
